If you are trying to lose weight, one of the first things you will hear is that you should cut out the alcohol first. While this is largely true, isn't it possible to have an occasional drink and still lose weight? Read on to find out. So what is the big deal? Alcohol and weight loss are natural enemies. Alcohol is metabolized differently than other foods and beverages, and therefore affects your weight loss. Normally, the human body gets its energy from carbs, fats, and proteins. But when you drink, the alcohol gets all the "attention" from your digestive system because it is viewed by the body as a toxin. So can I drink alcohol and still lose weight? An occasional drink can have a place in a healthy lifestyle.
