Think about it: you wake up in the morning after 8+ hours (hopefully) of sleep. You were asleep all night, but your body wasn't. Your body was still working, as always, to keep you alive and healthy. It was fighting off bad bacteria, breathing for you, and even working out solutions to problems you faced during the day. So when you wake up in the morning, it's no wonder that the single best thing you can do to start your day off right is to eat breakfast.

It is literally the most important meal you eat each and every day. It helps you stay healthy, keep fit and be mentally alert. When you skip breakfast on a regular basis, you're putting yourself at more risk to becoming obese, having high cholesterol, or getting diabetes. By eating breakfast, you'll be able to concentrate and perform better in your classes or at work. And eating breakfast can boost your strength and endurance for physical activities, as well as your hand-eye coordination, so you'll feel better when you work out or play sports.

You'll get the maximum benefit by eating whole grains at breakfast. Why is that? Well, many breakfast foods are fortified with vitamins, nutrients and fiber that are hard to get throughout the day.
